AudioQuest Coral is a Triple Balanced cable featuring Hyperlitz
construction.
Coral uses three solid PSC copper conductors, each insulated
with foamed Polyethylene. When used single-ended (with RCA plugs),
one conductor carries the positive audio signal, two carry the negative.
The 100% coverage shield is only attached at one end so that it is not
used as an inferior audio conductor.

AudioQuest's Coral attended to the middle range with a perspective
that was slightly less forward than the Nordost and Kimber.
It conveyed a warmer, rounder personality that would match well
with leaner, cooler systems. Its soundstaging was appreciably wide
and deep on orchestral material.

AudioQuest Copperhead uses two solid PSC copper conductors in
the symmetrical Hyperlitz arrangement.
One conductor is insulated and used for positive. The other is
uninsulated and makes contact with the 100% coverage shield,
allowing it to connect (drain) the shield while at the same time
being used as a high quality conducting path for the negative
signal. This black PVC jacketed version of this cable carries a
UL CL-3 rating, enabling it to be used inside walls without conduit.

Excellent-value AudioQuest Type 4 gets the "Recommended Component" nod
from Stereophile. Other reviewers are crazy about it, too. "If you've gotten
the impression that I liked AudioQuest's Type 4 speaker cable, you're quite
correct," writes Greg Smith in the June 1998 issue of SoundStage. "I haven't
heard anything less expensive than this that is as well balanced and appropriate
for such a wide range of systems."

Type 4 is a high-tech, four-conductor, solid LGC copper cable featuring PE poly-
-ethylene insulation, carbon-loaded polyethylene dielectric, and a PVC cover.
These cables are terminated at AudioQuest's factory using silver-base solder
and high-quality gold .25" spades. They are then wrapped in protective plastic.


"This is an excellent cable," marvels Britain's Home Entertainment magazine
in issue 64. "Type 4 has a fuller and more vibrant palate of tonal colours and
textures than most. The treble is detailed, and instruments and voices are well
separated, yet the treble is also well controlled, lacking the forward quality and
assertiveness of some."
Ordinary Price, Extraordinary Cable

Type 4 might look like a normal round cable, but inside is a fully optimized
combination of extraordinary materials and extremely refined design. All four
of Type 4's conductors are solid. Electrical and magnetic interaction between
strands in a conventional cable is the single greatest source of distortion, often
causing a somewhat harsh, dirty and confused sound. Solid conductors are the
most important ingredients of Type 4's very clear sound. Whether a conductor
is solid or stranded, skin-effect is a prime distortion mechanism in speaker
cables. Type 4 very simply keeps this effect out of the audio range by using
conductor sizes that are below the threshold for audible distortion.
A Super Sonic Technology

SST stands for Spread Spectrum Technology, an AudioQuest cable innovation.
Any single size or shape of conductor has a specific distortion profile. SST
significantly reduces distortion by using a precise combination of different size
conductors. SST has enabled Type 4 to be the biggest possible four conductor
cable that avoids audible skin-effect.

Conductors are made of LGC (Long Grain Copper), which has a pure surface
for focused sound and excellent signal transfer. The helical array construction
allows for significantly better dynamic contrast and information intelligibility
than if the same conductors were run in parallel.

Type 4 cable is UL / CL3 certified for in-wall use. Its combination of economical
price and great performance makes it ideal for multi-room systems.

Triple shielded (Cu-foil and 2 * SPC braid, teflon foil between them), pure solid silver digital cable in dark grey PVC jacket. Cross-section of the internal wire is 0,33 mm2.

It has often been said that the best digital interconnect in the world (in real-world price terms) is the old Kimber Illuminati D60. (Hey we don't mind name checkin' a brother…). Of course, Kimber no longer produce this interconnect (as Ray himself did not actually design it). NO MORE…because The Ecosse Soundman creams the old Illuminati BIG TIME!!!

Here's how: It is vital that 'reference' quality digital cable closely matches the 'characteristic impedance' (75ohm) of the digital signal- this being the most important concern of digital signal transmission. Of near-equal importance is 'capacitance'-which must be kept as low as possible. The topology of ''The Soundman" digital interconnect is carefully controlled to precisely match these required specifications-it is a precision 75 ohm cable designed to provide the highest quality single-ended digital interface and of especially low capacitance. The signal conductor is made from a perfectly circular solid wire of 6N's silver.

Ultra low-loss Foamed Polyethylene forms the dielectric insulator and the former for the first two of three screens. A pure copper foil is surrounded by a close-lapped braid screen of silver-plated Ultra-Hi Purity OFC. A layer of PTFE (Teflon) separates this screen from an outer screen of the same close-tapped silver plated UHP-OFC. Such a screen fully protects the digital bit stream from the distortions introduced by RFI, EMI and ESI 'noise'. It is necessary and appropriate to ground this type screen at 'source' only- for maximum noise reduction. A layer of Neoprene™, acting as a damper and vibration absorber is sandwiched between the outer screen and the soft PVC outer jacket.

Developed with the best transports, DAC's and digital amplifiers in mind, "THE SOUNDMAN" propagates a full bandwidth signal within an ultra low noise environment that ensures the most accurate signal transfer possible and represents Ecosse's 'statement' digital transmission product.
